How to analyze stocks from a sector

Written by Lukas Langer | Dec 26, 2022

In this video, Daniel Korth aka Finanzrocker and Lukas Langer talk about analyzing sectors. The past year has once again shown how important it is to have a diversified portfolio. Among other things, this means investing in shares from different sectors.

But how do you analyze a sector and find the most promising stocks? Daniel Korth talks about his personal approach in the video.

His approach can be roughly divided into 4 steps:

1️⃣ Understanding the sectors and finding stocks: In the first step, Daniel examines the industry through simple research. Who are the market leaders? Who are the challengers? What is the future viability of the industry?

2️⃣ Gain an overview: What are the differences between the individual companies? What news is there about the companies? The financial rocker uses the investor relations pages & the aktien.guide news section of the individual companies.

Analyze 3️⃣ shares: A detailed analysis of individual key figures follows. Daniel uses the aktien.guide Fundamental Charts. He uses the key figures P/E ratio, free cash flow margin, gearing ratio, sales development, EBIT growth. This already gives him a good initial overview

4️⃣ shares: He then adds the promising shares to his watchlist and monitors them over a certain period of time with the help of the aktien.guide news section until sufficient capital is available for an investment. If new quarterly results are published during this period, he also takes his time to look at them.

This approach gives him a quick overview of a sector and enables him to identify the sector winners of tomorrow.
